We were coming from Englewood, NJ so we drive. Helpful hint, on Saturdays parking starts at 7 for the meters and have the parking app. Started off with cocktails and I have to throw in my general complaint that drinks EVERYWHERE are way overpriced and we drink too much. 6 drinks and 2 bottles of wine was most are bill We had Sammy as our waitress and was very good. We started with the flatbread for a starter, because we were starving. We ordered it with our drinks. For apps we shared the meatballs and muscles. Both were good, muscles were I tiny bit fishy. For dinner I had steak fritte (had paper corn sauce) and everyone devoured my fries. My wife had the chicken, not a huge piece) Our friends had the risotto and the pasta. We were all happy with our dishes. I think the steak frites was the best of the bunch This is attached to a hotel and on the 14 th floor there's a bar with a roof deck
Been here second time. I like it. Not loud space. Cozy and relaxing music playing in background. Good selection of wine varieties. Food was very good last time also this time I went with my Cabernet again. Love to stop by on my way home from work or just to chit chat with few friends of mine. Service always nice and friendly and fast.
Madison Vine is located near grand central and the public library making it a great lunchtime spot to rest your feet in between adventures around the city. For dinner our food was surprisingly good. We got the black bean burger and the steak to share. The steak was delicious and so was the burger I will say the staff wasn't particularly attentive to our table but we weren't in a rush so it was ok. This place is unassuming but the food is good!
Madison and Vine is an attractive cafe located very close to Grand Central. There is a bar area and outside dining. Staff were pleasant enough although it was an effort to get noticed. I did not have to wait very long for the food to arrive. I ordered the chicken au jus which is popular here in NYC. The food was average. The chicken did not appear to have just come out of the oven and the fingerling potatoes were ok, not delicate. In fact everything was pretty average which is how I would sum up the whole experience.
Great spot for lunch or dinner. We had an assortment of items and enjoyed each one. The appetizers were spot on classics. The calamari salted well and crispy. The salad fresh and cheesy. The meatballs soft and flavorful. We tried different entree items as well, the chicken was soft and moist. The steak cooked prefectly. However, the salmon a bit dry. The desserts were well excecuted and amazing. We had an overall great experience.
