Old Black Bear Brewery - Madison

The food at this restaurant was delicious and well worth the price. As a picky steak eater, I can confidently say that this was one of the best steaks I have ever had. We were lucky to stumble upon this hidden gem and are very pleased with our experience.

This restaurant surpassed my expectations for excellence and quality. While the burger may be on the more expensive side, it was definitely worth it in every way. The size, quality, creativity, and customer service were all exceptional. Great job, keep up the good work!

I have visited a few microbreweries in the past, as I have been brewing my own recipes for six years. This microbrewery is exceptional in terms of flavor, weight, color, and the liveliness of the bubbles in their beers. Unfortunately, I can't provide more accurate photos as we only remembered to take them after our meal. We ordered wings, a blue cheeseburger, pub chips with cheese, and some brews to go with our meal. The server, or brewmaster, was friendly, attentive, and precise. The atmosphere was inviting and interesting, resembling a coffee shop at first glance before opening up into a bar area with tables and an eatery. They also have an outside patio with fire pits for evening gatherings. The burgers had a good texture and size, not too crumbly or tough, and were quite tasty. The wings were crispy and flavorful, with a delicious sauce added on top. It appears they make their own sauces, pub chips, and most other items on their menu. The horseradish sauce served with the pub chips was a nice touch, and you could tell the cheese was not from a can as the texture was still present in the sauce. The pub chips were cooked perfectly, not soggy or overdone, with the cheese on top adding to the overall experience. Overall, everything was done right, and the attention to detail in their food and drinks was evident.

Delicious Food and I loved the margarita! You should definitely give this place a try. We were not big fans of the beer but maybe we just tried the wrong flavors.

Just had my first experience here and I will be coming back. Dropped in for lunch and had the classic burger and a Bear Cave Lager. Burger was excellent, fries were a touch on the soggy side, and the help was great. Only regret is that I didn't order the BBQ Burger which one of my friends did.
