Slim Chickens - Madison

Visited 7/22/22 at 4:15pm, the chicken and fries were freshly prepared, cooked, and served promptly after our order. Food arrived at our table shortly after we made our drinks. Lightning fast service. Staff running register was extremely courteous and patient with us as we decided what to order for our child. The Nashville hot dry rub was superb on my tenders. Establishment was clean and there is an abundance of natural light. The fresh lemonade was tasty too. Great place for any occasion; go check them out!

The food was good. But the only two things that were wrong was that we didn't get are dipping sauces and the French Fries could be cooked a little longer. But other than that it was good tasting. The sauce on the chicken was delicious. Will come back again. Sub chips were Mango Habanero. My chicken was Mango Habanero and the other was Cayenne Ranch. They were good.

The experience was satisfactory. I had the Korean BBQ along with their special sauce. However, the wings were a bit too soggy for my liking. If I decide to return, I would definitely request that they fry them for a longer time. They claim that everything is cooked to order, but I'm not so sure about that. I received my food just about a minute after placing my order—before I even had a chance to sit down! While the food wasn't cold, it didn't seem fresh out of the fryer either.

The chicken fingers were juicy but a bit chewy, which suggested they could have used another minute in the fryer. The fries were lackluster and a bit soggy. While they met health code standards, I’ll give the place a few more chances before making a final judgment. On my second visit, things improved significantly. We dined on the patio, and I ordered the same meal, which I was very pleased with this time. It was cooked perfectly. Good recovery! I look forward to coming back to try more items from the menu.

We paired the chicken with Slim's sauce, which reminded us of a ketchup and mayo blend, seasoned with either Old Bay or pepper. It was really tasty! For dessert, we enjoyed a strawberry milkshake, and we were pleasantly surprised to find fresh strawberries in it. We will certainly return to explore more items on the menu as well as the dessert offerings! Edit: The service and food delivery has improved significantly. It seems like Slim's has become more established, or perhaps we just visited during a less busy dinner time. In any case, the food is exceptional, and the strawberry cheesecake is a must-try!
