The Statehouse - Madison

We had previously visited for drinks, which was decent. However, today we had a late lunch, and the food and service were subpar at best. If it weren't for the beautiful waterfront location, this restaurant would truly be in trouble. I doubt we will return for another meal here. It's been a long time since I've had such a disappointing dining experience.

The restaurant lacks handicap accessibility, which is a significant drawback. The $20 valet parking fee is unreasonable. I had to search for an elevator to avoid going down five flights of stairs to reach the restaurant, and there were no instructions provided on where to find it. I do not recommend this place for anyone with health issues. I will not return, as there is no wheelchair accessibility. It's disappointing that management has not addressed this problem.

Discovered the Boathouse recently and this has become my favorite summertime place to eat. Enjoy your meals with the awesome views of the lake. Sunset views are spectacular. Located in the Edgewater Hotel, you must visit The Boathouse for excellentfood, service, and summer vibes. They have indoor and patio dining available. Strongly recommend patio dining to enjoy thebeautiful views. I absolutely love the food, ambience, and friendly service of this place. Went in on a Sunday evening andchose to sit outside. Our server promptly arrived and took are apps and drinks order. We started with the calamari, trufflefries and pretzel bites. The apps were good and I loved the calamari. It was perfect. Need to try the cheese curds during mynext visit. We also the Mahi Mahi fish tacos, Power Bowl, Chicken Salad croissant and Boathouse burger . The food was reallygood. Check out The Boathouse today!! To be fair, the other tables seemed to receive better service than we did. As I mentioned, the fried clockshadow cheese curds were good, but the calamari was below average. The ahi poke bowl, however, was truly disappointing—it tasted more like a poorly cooked ahi tuna salad served over slightly chewy rice noodles. This chef clearly does not understand how to make ahi poke. I did overhear another guest who ordered the mahi tacos and said they were very good. Again, I must emphasize that other diners appeared to have a better experience than ours.

Cheese curds appreterizer was so delicious ???? worth it! They actually had ???? cherry coke which I am a big fan of! Being right next to the lake was so beautiful and peaceful! It wasn't a busy day. The weather was nice. The decor of the inside of therestaurant was nice and clean. Even the bathrooms were well kept. Our waitress and all the staff was friendly. 5 stars! We willbe back!
