Based on some of the online reviews, I was a bit hesitant before making my reservation. The restaurant did NOT disappoint in any way. Our server, a very nice and most accommodating young man, could not have been more attentive! The appetizers were outstanding the jamón ibérico was served beautifully and well worth every penny of the cost. The ënsalada Aranjuez¨ was probably the best salad I had ever eaten in my life. But those were just the starters! The steaks, one entrecote and one solomillo, were seasoned to perfection and grilled beautifully. When I asked that my entrecote be put back on the grill for another minute or two, as it was slightly more pink that I like, it was not a problem and in less than three minutes, my steak was returned to me just right. Of course, I enjoyed every last morsel. Cheesecake (presented beautifully) topped off a perfect dining experience. I haven´t mentioned the ambience but a corner table in front of floor to ceiling windows which overlooked the beautiful Gran Vía at night made for a very picturesque and memorable setting. My only negative was that a fine dining establishment of this caibre should have cloth table cloths, not glass topped tables. Other than that, everything was perfect.
If you sit in certain seats you get the best views of Grand Via. Sonos is a formal restaurant within the large hotel. In Madrid many of the restaurants are tucked in cozy spots on the street. This is not which may or may not be appealing. It is also a quiet restaurant so if you want to be able to hear others this may be an appealing option. This is a white tablecloth type of service. The restaurant is expensive and there was not a food standout for my tastes. However, my monkfish was good and Somos has some nice wines. This is not a trendy place.
Good looking food Staff excellent service Taste food and good portion sizes Reasonable prices Staff speak English which is good for Spain
We were at the restaurant and we are located on the second floor of the hotel. We came after reading the opinions and because we could pay part of the account with yums (the fork) puts us on a table in front of the glass with unbeatable views in the great way. They serve you with an octopus snack to the vinegar that has a lot of me. This detail is always appreciated. We asked you to start some croquettes, they were very good, creamy and with large slices of ham. I repeat. of the main dishes I took the entrecot that was very good of flavor and at its point. I came with two sauces (you can't change) a hot sauce and another meat that I met those who had meat concentrate. Nothing good was going on with the intercot. I would have preferred a cream sauce, roquefort, pepper or mushrooms. with this, it doesn't fail. We also asked for carrilles, I'm not very fan, but I have to say they were rich and super cute. Maybe the sweet potatoes gave the dish too sweet. We finally took the cheesecake that was what I fryed most of the food. It wasn't bad, but not repeating. the final account was 49 euros (depending on 25 that were paid with yums.) is something missing but given the place and the good service I understand that these prices are.
It was very good, I had a very nice day. the service was very good and kind. I have.
