Anjappar Authentic Chettinad Madurai

In short, my experience at this restaurant was a disaster and I highly do not recommend it. I visited on December 21st, 2023, and was disappointed to find that the chicken biryani they claimed to have was not available. I also ordered Anjappar fried chicken, which turned out to be just plain chicken fried in oil. The rice served was pulao, not basmati or jeera rice, with only two small pieces of leftover curry added. When we questioned the staff, they just smirked and did not offer any solution. No one apologized or tried to make things right. Overall, the food and service were both terrible, with only the ambiance scoring a 6 out of 10. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I recently dined at a nice, decent restaurant where I tried the mushroom biryani, paneer 65, and sathukudi juice. The dishes were absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were generous.

My first meal in Madurai was at a very nice restaurant. The interior was clean and aesthetically pleasing. I ordered a set meal, accompanied by a specially pan-fried fish, which was truly delicious. The fish must be their signature dish, as it stood out the most to me (although I couldn't remember the name). This restaurant is a great place to experience authentic cuisine.

This is a spacious restaurant very close to the main Bus Stand. We had ordered Nattu Kozhi Soup, Parottas , Mutton Gola and Mutton Biryani. All of them were cooked to the right consistency and helpings were large. Taste was authentic Chettinad flavour, in keeping with their claim.
