This review has been LONG time coming... I had my WEDDING here back in October 2019. Nonna 's Pizzeria is owned, ran and managed by one of the best families I have ever met, who absolutely care about their customers and go above and beyond for their business. I was looking for a small east coast pub like venue for around 50 guests. Wanting to keep my wedding needs local I approached Nonna 's Pizzeria on Magna Main Street and they did not hesitate to say YES! I was so excited that they would facilitate to that particular need, and even more excited that I finally had an romantic venue just like I wanted that was in my price range. Sebastian and Tina made planning the food, seating and setting up for my wedding so easy and stress free for me, even though it was the 1st wedding they hosted they totally seemed like they knew exactly what they were doing. There was only one small hiccup with the sauces that we wanted for our chicken Parmesan. We asked all of our guests if they wanted white or red sauce and expressed that to Nonna 's before the wedding so they could plan on food. On the wedding day the food was being brought out and there was only red sauce. BUT, literally their red sauce is AMAZING, so I wasn 't disappointed. Then Sebastian and his family/team fixed the error IMMEDIATELY and even made my mom a special *Gluten Free* salad (that I spaced even telling them she needed with chicken and their awesome dressing that they make homemade. I am so impressed by this restaurants willingness to fix the issue and how fast they moved in the right direction after the error was noticed, most other places would have just said Oh Well, Too Late . I had people asking me if I was nervous to do my wedding at a place that had been on Ghost Adventures in fear or something happening during the ceremony and such, but it didn 't feel dark or gloomy or creepy, it just felt like a building filled with lots of love, and honestly what isn 't haunted in Magna ; . It was a day of CELEBRATION and everyone was cheerful, nice and welcoming. Made possible by Nonna 's and their great hospitality, great food and great vibes! My family and I will visit Nonna 's often for as long as it is there. Being A Magna Local, I really notice how fast restaurants come and go but I KNOW Nonna 's will always be open and serving awesome food because these people just know their sh!t, and love what they do! Went to try a new place that is a little out of the way for me. I love calzones so I have to try one wherever I go. The crust of the calzone is really good, light and crispy. Here is the caveat, if you like ricotta cheese you will love it. I have always liked the taste of ricotta cheese, but i dont like the texture. This ricotta cheese is smooth and creamy which just seems the perfect consistency. The only thing that detracts from the overall enjoyment is that there is so much ricotta inside that i cannot taste the mozzarella as much as i would like.
Meh. Musty smell as it's an old building, but effort was put into the decorating. I had the spaghetti with two mwatballs. Very salty, but atop a lot of pasta. Hubby had the Philly steak sandwhich. Fairly disappointing. Not much to it. Smaller than Subway, and more is charged for it.
Alright, yes I did drive out all the way to Magna for pizza. The place is called Nonna , that has an authentic ring to it, so I had to give it a try. Plus I was on a carb loading week. I had to keep the streak going. It 's a very small place, you order at the front and they bring the food to the table. You do grab your own drinks and utensils, kind of like zupas but pizza style. I ordered the garlic knots (5 out of 5), it was freshly baked. Nice and toasty on the outside and warm and delicate on the inside. It was really good, definitely need to give it a try! I also got the kitchen sink pizza with jalapeños and pineapples. I 'm not a crust person... but I ate the crust. So that 's saying a lot! (5 out of 5) for the tasty pizza. And last but not least, the baked ziti pasta. I honestly wished I got the spaghetti and meatballs because the ziti needed more flavor and life to it. But it was recommend to us, so I gave it a shot... and that 's the last shot. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and experience. Our waitress was 10 out of 10. She was so sweet and nice and constantly checking up on us without being overbearing. I seriously would only drive out here for the garlic knots... just try it and you will know what I mean.
