It 's attached to the Exxon station right off the exit and the name isn 't printed on the building, just on the sign outside. Of course, Champs Chicken is printed everywhere else so you would think that 's the actual name of the restaurant. Either way, this place has real Southern food like no other and I stopped here not once, but twice in one day. For breakfast I just tried their cheese grits and they were excellent. They ran a $0.99 bacon biscuit and while I didn 't eat it, I saw they didn 't skimp on the bacon. For lunch I really wanted to try the fish and the livers and gizzards however they didn 't have a meal for both together. The lady told me I could build my own so I did. The fish was different than any other I had ever had. It was breaded in a cornmeal breading and fried, and very good. The livers and gizzards were, well livers and gizzards. Either you like them or don 't and I do. The collards were just okay. I 've had much better. Overall, it 's a nice little place to eat at if you 're in the middle of nowhere.
This little gas station restaurant is amazing! I ordered fried chicken liver snack with mashed potatoes. The lovely young lady cooked a fresh order for me and they we're the best I have had in over a decade. Just as good as my grandmother's. My mom tried the smothered chicken with rice. She loved it! I'm not sure if they sold beverages, but they are inside a convenience store. Stop here anytime you have the opportunity
