The Hive Darlington

We started visiting this hidden gem last year. The food is made fresh and is always of the best quality. It sets the benchmark for culinary expectations. Breakfast or lunch or a coffee and cake stop will not disappoint. It is worth seeking this quirky little cafe out if you enjoy good food.

Originally from Perth, but now residing in Melbourne. We were looking for another place and came across this one and so glad we did! We had a lovely view of the ranges on a greenery filled balcony. We had a huge helping of delicious chips, pies and a rice salad. Everything was beautifully made and quite scrumptious. The only thing that Perth doesn’t do that Melbourne does well is having free sparkling water. Instead I paid $3.90 to get my fix today!

Nice selection that included GF all at a reasonable price, we intended to visit again. The kids liked the burgers as well. Good place to meet friends we thought.

Go here regularly. Always a lovely selection of food and carefully prepared drinks. Cold water in the fridge and glasses of all kinds to choose from. Indoor and outdoor seating, all different. Whole range of sweet or savoury food in the glass display cabinets. Definitely recommend you visit.

Lovely food with a few gluten free options. I thoroughly enjoyed my corn and fritters and salad. Enough on my plate so I was not hungry. Downside bathroom is in a hall across the road. Lovely setting opposite a park, oval and tennis courts. Great spot to bring kids as there is a playground. They shut at 2pm on Saturday, so you need to get there early. However they open again at 5pm selling pizzas. Filed away in my favourites.
