My husband ordered a salad, only to be told they no longer did salads, but were not able to change the board for some reason. 3 choices of jacket potato. Very wobbly table, Hot chocolate cold and had to be asked to be re heated. Sandwiches all pre boxed and uninspiring. Noisy fridge next to our table. The room was lovely, but there was no atmosphere and al ack lustre welcome. Will not be going back and certainly would not visit the Barge restaurant that is affiliated with thiscafe.
I was amazed when I walked into the new café deli at the museum. It was a delightful experience - the staff were fantastic, fresh sandwiches were made daily, and they had a variety of cakes, brownies, salads, and even a pick and mix stand that excited my niece. The best part was that everything on display was made in Kent - all products were locally sourced. I thought it was wonderful.
I recently visited the café with my children after a trip to the museum. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment and did not live up to the friendly staff. I ordered a children's lunch box, but the bread was stale and dry, and the cheese filling was too big and made it difficult to eat. There were limited options for my 16-month-old to eat, which was disappointing considering most museum visitors are families with small children. The chocolate cake I ordered was also dry and stale. The staff, however, were fantastic and very helpful. Overall, the food was a major issue and has deterred me from visiting again or trying the barge restaurant.
I often struggle to find a good cafe due to high prices and disappointing food, especially at chains like Costa and Nero. However, when I visited the Deli Cafe at Maidstone museum, I discovered a hidden gem. My family and I enjoyed a variety of sandwiches, salads, and cake while my kids indulged in pick and mix. We all found something we liked at a reasonable price, and the spacious atmosphere was a plus. To top it off, I was even given a 15% discount voucher for my next visit. Overall, a great experience at the Deli Cafe.
If they love the old and Greek history, then this museum is the one to visit. they receive a great greeting from all the workers of the front with beautiful souvenirs for all age groups. there are actual elements as displayed and someable models. the layers behind each artifact were amazing. if they go to any room and read any detailed description, it can take a few hours. children would be a great addition to their visit, but make sure they listen to them at any time, as some objects should not be touched. they do not want to destroy the history in less than an hour. they also plan their journey and enjoy the visit of the museum. ps: face mask is mandatory at this time.
