Wimpy - Maidstone

I can't believe Wimpy is still in business! I went with my family and it was so nostalgic, just like I remembered.

I ordered the all-day breakfast special, a muffin, and drinks at this restaurant. The food looked good at first, but while eating the breakfast I found a strange blue-gray item mixed in with the chips. I brought this to the attention of the server, asking for some clarification on what it could be since it was definitely not part of the breakfast. The server took the item and said they would need to send it to the Wimpy head office for analysis. When we asked for a refund for our meal, the server refused and told us to wait for the results of the analysis. This lack of apology and poor customer service attitude was shocking. We decided to leave without finishing our meal.

I haven't been to this restaurant in years and unfortunately, it seems like it hasn't improved in terms of food quality or decor. The place looked tired and worn out. When I went to place our order, the server seemed more focused on his phone than on me. The food itself was average, with low quality and greasy dishes. Overall, the meal was subpar. The music was also too loud and had to be turned down upon request.

With my family went to lunch, was said that we all had to wear our masks and checked in on the nhs app and I had to wear my mask before I went to a table. the next customers who were behind us did not have to wear masks. when I challenged the waiter why the other customers didn’t have to wear masks, the answer I got was “I don’t know how I didn’t talk to them.” ok, that was good (better to be safe than it does, I guess) but laughing from the other lady members of the staff (coke and waitress) was not called. therefore decided to go. not sure if they can call this discriminatory or something else, but we did not feel welcome in this facility, so somewhere else was more friendly.

Very friendly waitress, good food, although it was expensive to order and eat came quickly. toilets are not the best, but better than nothing.
