Santiago Bar Mainz

Our team had a team dinner in the restaurant in July 2017. There came about 20 of us. We stayed outside due to hot weather. The outside seating area was spacious. The restaurant took our booking with just 30 minutes notice but there was no issue with organization nor services.The food was awesome. It's not easy to meet expectations of a global team and typical schnitzels and heavy German food in general doesn't work well. However, there was no such issue in Santiago and everyone was happy with their food. The choice was great and the food was perfect.The only minor issue was that the staff didn't quite speak English so it was more difficult to communicate but the restaurant deserves 5 stars anyway.

I have booked online a table at this restaurant and even though I have received a confirmation email, my name was not on their reservation list. The place was very full and they wanted to sit us at a table with other people. After I refused to eat with people that I do not know, the waiter said goodbye and turned away. He did not even apologized to us! The food may be good, but I do not think its worth to handle the staff.

The place has a nice ambience. We had Rodando with beef and with chicken, both of which were actually fairly tasteless given what you would expect from Cuban or South American quisine. Service was great.

We went for dinner, as I had seen the place and wanted to try Cuban Food. The menu is a variation of a few themes, which are all well presented and at a good price. We had a selection of very good Tapas to start off with, following by a Cuban Dish, a bit like an over-sized Cornish Pasty, which was filling and also very good. It is first and foremost a bar, and the Mojitos are very good as is the selection of wine. They also serve Havana Club, authentic rum - so what more can you ask for?Well worth a visit.

Very good restaurant with cuban and other south american classics. Happy hour for cocktails seemingly lasts the whole evening. Luckily we were on foot and not by car.
