Packed with locals. Just amazing quality of seafood, cooked to perfection and served very simply. We had octopus (fantastic in parsley, olive oil, and raw garlic) calamari, a raw shellfish called conchefina which was like a cross between an oyster and a scallop and was so fresh and delicious, and some battered ?anchovies like whitebait. Thinking of coming back for the paella. Simple. Delicious. Perfect.
We were in the area after visiting the automobile and fashion museum and couldn't find a space in the restaurant we intended to go to (Playa but Los Palenos located just 3 min away by foot on the same street was an incredible find! The place was filled with locals enjoying a glass of ice cold beer and plates of fresh seafood. The menu was in Spanish and Google translate camera function helped us figured out that the first page is the others i.e. Salads and chips etc, the second page for fried seafood and the third on grilled. We had a massive portion of chips, grilled octopus, fried calamaris and fried sardines. The bill came up to only €31.50 with beer and water! The portions were Huge! We had such a hard time finishing it. Being a seafood fanatic, I just had to finish every bits on the plate. It's absolutely delicious and I would definitely go back again, should I have the chance. Service is so-so probably because of the culture itself (doesn't affect our experience at all! but the waiter was able to speak some English, so that's a great help!
