First, let me say that my three friends enjoyed their meal. However, the lobster dish was listed as “market price.“ I inquired and I was told that it would be somewhere between 48 and €52. When the bill came, it was €80. I felt this was a little disingenuous. While my friends enjoyed their fish dinners, the lobster Thermidor was subpar. it was as though they cooked the lobster and just threw a heavy sauce on top of it. At the end of the day, I would’ve appreciated it if they had been transparent about the price. There’s a big difference between €50 and €80! No one wants to feel as though they have been had.
Monkfish scampi sweet sour dip followed by the most delicious and perfectly cooked Dover Sole. Always a busy place. Great service. (Small peeve is that the toilets can send out an occasional whiff) choose your table wisely!
We were a group of six at Seabank last Saturday, all I can say the experience was so wonderful I’m still thinking about the food and atmosphere a week later! When we arrived the restaurant was full inside and out, the diners looked like very happy customers. The service was attentive, the wine selection very good and well priced, the seafood selection was amazing. I recommend the Dover Sole, Lobster Thermador and believe it or not the Fish Chips. The best food in Malahide.
The menu had a wide variety of fish and seafood choices. We opted for the platter which was quite plenty to share amongst 3 of us. I asked if the seafood was grilled eg. calamari and the server said yes. I repeated my question and he said Yes . The platter came and all of them are cooked in butter or fried. My friend got sick with all the grease. The taste were very good though. Fish was very fresh. I would still come back because of the fresh seafood.
