The Jolly Sailor Fish On The Quay

I booked a table here for a full afternoon, sitting next to a screaming child, with a wonderful table and the floor was dirty where we sat. We asked the waitress to sort the table, did not do it, we were asked to order food in the bar as they were too busy today to do table service, although we sat in the actual restaurant sitting in the pub. So we had to order in the bar, went to the bar to order, and the staff informed that they did not receive food orders until the announcement. Why didn't the waitress tell us when we were sitting? A reservation that I had eaten there, I would therefore expect me to have food. No excuses made to just take a look away, not my problem from the bar staff. It won't go back.

This is a very lively pub due to its location. It was always that you would think they had enough staff to serve. Bar staff very dedicated and polite, but had to wait 45 -50 minutes for our food. That would have been good if we were told about the waiting time at the order, but that was not the case. However, when the food arrived, it was great, highly recommend their warm seafood plated when you are ready to wait. Great food, nice location, but a little long wait for food.

I had made a reservation over a month in advance for my wife's birthday, only to arrive at the restaurant and find it unexpectedly closed and dark. Despite receiving a confirmation call from OpenTable the day before. I went to the pub next door and was told that this same issue happened with all Mother's Day bookings the week prior. Apparently, there was some renovation work happening with the floor. It seemed they had plenty of time to inform customers and cancel reservations, but chose not to do so. It's clear that they do not value their customers or reputation, so I will not be returning.

Booking confirmed turned up and restaurant was closed
