The Old Bell Saints Sinners

My husband and I just had a fantastic weekend at this fabulous hotel! The room was simply incredible, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating; they went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choices, and the one dinner we experienced was also outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel and want to thank them for a wonderful experience. We spent a couple of nights at the Old Bell and were thoroughly impressed by the high standard of service and the quality of the food. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and beautifully decorated, featuring a large king-sized sleigh bed. The evening meals were exceptional, with the venison and duck standing out as our favorite dishes from a carefully curated menu. This area of Wiltshire is definitely worth a visit, as Highgrove, Castle Combe, and Lacock are all easily accessible from the hotel. We look forward to returning to explore more. I had Sunday lunch at this restaurant, and unfortunately, the beef was inedible; it was very stringy and rubbery. It was disappointing, as the meat should have been carved against the grain rather than with it. I doubt I'll return. The chef should definitely have known better. Service: 4, Location: 3.

Stopped in for coffees beautiful building with very friendly service from the chap on the bar. Accidentally ended up paying twice (one of us went to the restaurant as there was no one at the bar so payment put through simultaneuously our fault) which was refunded quickly, however a service charge was added to one of the bills and not the other 12.5% seems a bit steep for 2 coffees and doesn 't seem to be any consistency in adding this. Our refunded fee was the one without the service charge. So overall great but yet another venue charging a pretty big 'discretionary ' service charge for a minimal effort customer.
