We didn't stay at the hotel, but we stopped by for an evening meal in September '23. The food was truly excellent. We enjoyed a delightful meal, with flavors that surpassed typical pub restaurant cuisine. However, what really set our experience apart was the staff; everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our visit even more enjoyable. Additionally, the bar area allows you to bring your well-behaved pets, which is a lovely touch. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to eat. Service: 5/5.

In addition to the usual tea and coffee, there were delightful extras like herbal teas, hot chocolate, biscuits, and crisps—such a great treat for an evening snack! The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful finishing touches, including decorative cushions. They even provided bottled water in a lovely bottle. I highly recommend The Lion to my family and friends, and I definitely plan on returning. As for the food and drinks, I enjoyed the buttermilk half chicken, which was a generous portion, served alongside delicious chips. Overall, this was the best room I’ve stayed in!

It’s hard to resist having Fish and Chips on another evening other than Fridays! Probably the best Fish Chips in Cheshire! Maria and her husband run an amazing business and the food is always tasty and delicious I tried the scampi this evening and it was wonderful.The Fish is always fresh and appetising. Everything is always cooked to perfection. We are so lucky to have this business on our doorsteps Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
