It was interesting trying a Chinese version of hotpot. The all you can eat little food bar they had was nice. Had things like kimchi, which looked real sad, to eggs rolls, to different pastes and sauces, etc. We order a few items like marinated beef, some chicken, vegetables, and more. Now. It is all you can eat, and there was another section on the menu you can go with. But it's $10 more. Although, if you have a good amount of people, then it makes sense.Overall, the food was good. Service could be better, and the atmosphere was nice. They definitely get busy, and I see why. We would be willing to come back and try them again :
We went Happy Lamb today for total of 4 people and we choose regular all you can eat option. Since I had to go first, I asked them to check out only for my portion. Including tax my cost total is about $40 but they added me $12.96 for tip. When I saw the receipt, I was pretty confused and asked them why they charged me that high amount of tip, and the receptionist told me that is 18% tip required. I had to go so I did not have enough time to check if it is 18%. When I got home, I realized it is actually more than 35%. What kind of business is this? They can charge whatever tip they want? While I appreciate the quality of the food at Happy Lamb Hot Pot, this unexpected and seemingly excessive tip has raised questions about the transparency of their billing practices business.
We had a large group (12 people) and it was nothing short of disappointing. Despite our anticipation for a satisfying meal, the service fell short in every aspect. With only a couple of small plates brought out per order and wait times ranging from 20 to 40 minutes between servings, our dining experience stretched on for over 2 hours without satisfaction. Frustrated and hungry, we ultimately decided to leave and find food elsewhere. This lackluster service and prolonged waiting times left us all dissatisfied. Unless improvements are made, I cannot recommend this place to others seeking a pleasant dining experience.
Authentic Chinese/ Mongolia hotpot , yuan yang soup (spicy non spicy is very healing. Chicken wings are the best in the area!
Ugh! I am so bummed. I ordered take out and the house broth was completely flavorless. It was pretty much water. I did my best to flavor it up at home- but ugh the take out cost and fees were so expensive. I know ordering take out isn't ideal for hot pot but I'm very disappointed.
