Overall, service was fine, especially since we were a large group. but was left with a bad experience that I feel like is something that needs to be addressed we went as a group of 10 ppl to celebrate a birthday, and brought a cake. myself and afriend asked the people at the front (who we later found out was the chef) if we could keep the cake in the fridge (as you do,at most restaurants). the people at the front gladly agreed and told us to let them know when they should bring it out. laterin the evening, we let our server know to bring out the cake, and after blowing out the candles they quickly brought the cake tothe back to cut it (and only cut it we still served the cake onto plates ourselves). on receiving the bill, there was a 50$fee (5$ per person) for cake cutting. we were shocked, as this was not something we had been told of upfront. a fee to cut thecake is fine, had we been told... but 50$ was more than the cost of the cake itself. honestly it is ridiculous... if you thinkabout it, if 2 people went, would you be charging 50$ when you 're probably making the same number of cuts as for 5 or 10 people?or would you only be making cuts enough for 2 slices. a flat fee would make much more sense! later that night, another memberin my party called to inquire about the fee the person who answered the phone told my friend that we had in fact, beeninformed about the fee (which we hadn 't), but they would take off the fee so as not to upset anyone and basically hung upright after. this in itself was very upsetting. ??. probably won 't be coming back!
Thursday October 6th evening. So I honestly do feel bad about writing this review I should've reached out and talked to the wait staff and perhaps the line cooks whom I had chatted with before seating for my meal. I was excited when I looked at the reviewson Google maps since I only live a couple blocks away and didn't feel like making my own meal that night and was intrigued bythe fresh made pasta. The restaurant was quite attractive however this is the exact type of restaurant that you would avoid atall costs when in the home land of Italy. The staff was quite courteous and found me a single seat with a view outside on thepatio. I was feeling hungry and was looking forward to having some to go items for the next day so I ordered the salad and thespaghetti dish. I inquired with the waiter if the spaghetti had actual fresh and acciuga fish on it. This would have made thedish absolutely spectacular. I was informed it was the dried salty version with garlic and butter present. I went ahead withmy order. Both the salad and the spaghetti were brought out in a timely manner however the salad was absolutely a black pepperfest and that dominated the dish. Now I'm a person who could withstand many different strong flavors with Seattle having manycuisines to sample from but black pepper over ruling a green salad is a bit much. Also I'm a sensitive person and suffer frompoisoning when eating sulfited material which I believe happened here from the green's. The pasta unfortunately was even lessexciting than the salad there was no clear present prominent flavor to talk of a distant fishy taste was present. Garlic nevermade it even to the midway of the flavor palate. Now I do like a pasta cooked Al dente however this pasta was a bit like a hardpretzel in the middle of it. The waiter was however most kind when I requested a custom non alcoholic drink and furnished that. However after spending $37 with a 20% tip I had to throw away The Leftovers for risk of
Great service, and tasty food. The former is not a given at even the more expensive restaurants in Seattle. Main dishes arrived after we had finished a leisurely appetizer. It is too bad that I have to call this out as exceptional, but the art ofdining seems lost in many establishments. We were pleasantly surprised by the pace of service, which was well-aligned with ourdining habits. Thank you for a great dining out experience. Jada was a great server!
Want to give a fair review, so I'd go either 2 or 3 stars. Most times we've gone it has been 4 stars. However, last couple times the meals have been extremely spicy. Like enough that we couldn't get through our meals without slugging water. May have been afew off nights, but just wanted to share my experience.
