I used to eat this dish frequently, and I think it’s definitely been upgraded. The vegetable pakora was another standout; it had a wonderful crispiness and well-balanced seasoning. I ended up going back for a second helping. I used to love the pakora here, and I can confidently say I prefer it now. The paneer makhani tasted more like a korma sauce this time—creamier than tomato-based—which I personally loved, as I'm a fan of korma. Your preferences may vary, of course. The chicken tikka masala was somewhat basic, which is typical for the dish. While there was nothing wrong with it, it probably wouldn’t impress seasoned Indian food enthusiasts. As for the mango lassi, it used to be a bit thin and overly sweet. Now, it’s thicker and has a stronger mango flavor—definitely an upgrade. I also had the kheer, which I remember enjoying before, but it seems I like it even more now. Over the years, my taste for Indian cuisine has evolved. I've tried various local places and experienced more authentic dishes. This restaurant still caters slightly to less experienced diners, which I always felt they did, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I'm glad to say they’ve made their way back into my Indian food rotation!
I love love love love this restaurant and the owners are THE BEST! Say hi to the owners from me Donny. Give the cooks a hug and tell them I miss them mucho!!
Nice Indian buffet in the area! I believe it's $15.99 Tuesdays-Thursdays and then $17.99 the other days. It is definitely fairly priced for what you're getting/what the buffet has to offer. There is hot food along with a cold bar of fruits and salad. The service was nice and fast. The inside was clean and they had nice ambient music playing.
I was pleasantly surprised by the buffet at Himalayan. It brought back fond childhood memories of classic Indian buffets, complete with beautiful decor and lovely music. They offered a variety of vegetarian dishes that reminded me of my South Indian roots, such as string beans and potatoes, sautéed cabbage, and spiced pan-fried cauliflower—delicious! The selection of chicken dishes was also impressive, particularly the Chicken 65. I was thrilled to find both basmati rice and naan, as well as idli! To top it all off, there was an abundance of chutneys, pickles, and sauces to enhance the already delectable food. The young man who hosted and served me was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. I definitely plan to return, especially since I heard they host special events in the community and at their restaurant. Great job, Himalayan—keep up the good work!
I've been coming to this restaurant for seven years, and I can't believe I've never left a review. As an Indian, I often enjoy regular dishes here, but there are some North Indian specialties that I can't replicate at home. However, today was a delightful surprise – there was live music on a Friday night! I learned that they host live music every Friday evening and Saturday lunchtime.
