Mammoth has great lift service, the blend of Piste and Off-Piste skiing is perfect, and the grooming is well done. Ski patrol and operations ensure that safety is paramount for guests of the mountain.I want to mention what I truly appreciated during a visit this season. I have been working hard to elevate my skiing the past few years and to make that happen, I have been taking group lessons. I did an advanced/intermediate lesson at the Main lodge and Kevin Kuljerich was the instructor. He asked me what I wanted to work on and evaluated my skiing on several runs. He then put me through 5 skill drills and worked me me in tuning up those skills. Since that lesson I have skied approximately 12 more days. Those few hours spent with Kevin have definitely paid off. I am a more confident skier, I can ski a variety of terrain and conditions at level of speed, control, and enjoyment that I had not had prior to my session with Kevin.I recommend skiing with Kevin and request him if possible.
A weekend well spent at the best ski/snowboarding mountain in California! I spend several weekends a year snowboarding here and just love the terrain. The coverage here is quite good throughout the season. This weekend was the busiest I've ever seen with crazy long lines. Lots of snow impacts the lifts and also brings riders to the mountain. The ticket prices have gone up drastically, but by the amount of people out there it must not be a big deal. There are several lodges to stop at throughout the day. McCoy, being in the middle of the mountain is usually my go to for a break and quick bite with The Mill a close 2nd based on location. Although there is a decent amount of parking, lots are always full early on weekends or days right after a storm. Luckily there us a great bus system that runs around town, to various parking lots and to the base lodges to catch lifts.
I stayed at a Mammoth Mountain inn December 15 and 16th. I bought a drink at the Mill Creek restaurant which was $10. I left $1.50 tip when I got home I realize that they charge my card $1050. I spent so much time trying to get through to the right person to have this corrected. It took days and it's still not been changed. It has put me into overdraft and I am unable to pay my rent at this point, it was a very unacceptable mistake and cost me a lot of anxiety plus having to pay late fees and over charge fees. I asked them if they could compensate me and she said we did we refunded your money. Watch all your charges. I had another one from staying at the Mammoth, in that still has not been reversed. I feel like I don't want to go to Mammoth anymore because of this bad experience.
My family and I came here during a week long stay in Mammoth, and we wanted to snowboard, considering we don't have many resorts near us in Hanford. The resort and lodge was great, the service was friendly, and the mountain and ski runs were impeccable! Our only complaint would be about the price; $205 dollars for a single day lift ticket is ridiculous! Otherwise, the area is beautiful and our experience was great! We can't wait to come back!
Prices are ridiculous. Basically you priced out working class folks. Inflation my butt. Should have a discount for nurses.
