I arrived in the city center at 7:10 am on a cool, dry January morning after dropping off a family member at the airport. In need of a hot pie and a brew before my 8 am meeting, I entered Greggs only to find a long queue and only one person serving. It took several minutes to resolve a customer issue, but eventually, another staff member appeared to help clear the line. When I finally reached the counter and requested a Steak Bake, I was told it wasn't hot. I settled for a Sausage Roll, but was informed that wasn't hot either, only the vegan steak bakes were. Frustrated, I left empty-handed as it seemed that unless I arrived within 15 minutes of the pies coming out of the oven, I couldn't get a hot one. This isn't the first time I've encountered this issue at Greggs, and it's disappointing as when I do manage to get a hot pie, it's always delicious.
This restaurant offers typical Greggs fare. It may be considered a guilty snack, as items like pasties and sausage rolls are mass-produced. However, the taste is undeniably delicious.
I have popped into this branch of Greggs a few times, staff always welcoming and the food very tasty. Good place to grab a quick bite to eat if you are on the go.
I was working on a site locally and nipped in for a coffee and breakfast. Friendly staff welcomed us and good food served
