We stopped by for our company's annual outing. The atmosphere was lovely. Unlike at other places, the doormen here were not control freaks, which made for a much more enjoyable night.
The staff at the restaurant are fast and efficient, and the Christmas buffet food is good. The music is a bit too loud for having a conversation across the table.
Had our works Christmas meal in here. It was lovely and the place was rocking.
Very lovely pub with a nice atmosphere and great decor. Very much enjoyed a cosy spot at the back where you had a bit of privacy but could still enjoy the general chatter of the bar!! Fairly slow bar service (though it was a Monday), but waiters were attentive and polite, despite us having one person arrive late and being unsure of what to choose on the menu. Would add that the menu was limited (2 6 or 7 main dishes weren’t available) and the starters were fairly expensive for a small amount of food (5 beer battered prawns for £8.50). Though the taste was pretty good would absolutely recommend the Christmas pie! We originally booked for the Christmas menu, but were told when arriving that menu needed to be booked several days in advance so they could order in the food in (which is fair enough, but I can’t see this info anywhere on the website and didnt receive anything when I made the reservation, or confirmed it a few days in advance). Perhaps a bit of proactivity eg stating that the menu needs to be booked in advance on the ‘Christmas’ part of the website, or indicating this on the Christmas menu itself, would’ve been helpful so we weren’t disappointed. Saying this, overall would recommend if you can get a good deal on food and enjoy the 2 for 1 drinks as service and atmosphere is quite good and people are super friendly
