The Ford Madox Brown - Manchester

The restaurant has a classic and cozy atmosphere, with excellent customer service. The food is delicious with generous portions, and the drinks are a great value.

The service at the bar was very poor tonight. If you do not order on the app, you end up waiting for a long time as the staff seems to prioritize those who order on the app over those who prefer to order at the bar. When we mentioned that we had been waiting for a long time at the bar and that it would have been quicker to order on the app, the manager told us that we had made a staff member cry and refused to serve us. We were not at all rude or disrespectful. The staff appeared to be very busy, but unfortunately, we were not listened to and received an extreme reaction when we requested service.

We went for brunch and the food and drinks were delightful, HOWEVER, a dining experience involves more than just that! The staff were not very attentive. They left customers waiting for drinks at the bar while they made themselves coffee from the machine. Our plates sat empty in front of us for so long that I had to move them to a nearby empty table. It was not a pleasant atmosphere to be in.

So, when last orders are called aren't you supposed to get your beerand leave by 12.30am. I believe you still have half hour drinking up time. Well not here, they won't serve 2 guys 2 pints and 2 large JD's, (which would have been downed in 15 mins, and the only reason I can think of, the bar staff want their own party. Rude, arrogant, disrespectful and selfish. I thought it was all rumours about Wetherspoons, but now I know, its all true.

Just your typical Wetherspoons, excellent value for money, a good selection of drinks and fast service. I have been disappointed with this place in the past but my experience in January made up for it. This restaurant is actually a fair bit quieter than other Wetherspoons that I've been to in Manchester and it's a good size too! This time I ordered large scampi and chips and it tasted good for the price charged. Can't complain.
