Village Brasserie - Manchester

I took guests here and didn’t want to cause a huge fuss but it’s one of the worst places I’ve been too in a very long time. Anything but a warm welcome. When we were seated we were not informed that multiple menu items were not available. The red wine we tried to order we were told wasn’t available after a 10 minute search One of the starters wasn’t available (cauliflower) Three out of four mains that we tried to order were not available, one of which was slow cooked beef. When we intimated that we would leave and tried to book another restaurant suddenly the beef became available again. When the beef arrived it was quite obviously not slow cooked or had been defrosted in the microwave and was appalling. The duck was dry and over cooked. The Camembert was undercooked and should never have been served there was no check back on this. Service was average at best and we felt like we were not wanted or welcome. We paid and left and will never return it’s easy to see why this place has no customers One of the worst dining experiences avoid at all costs

The staff were very attentive and made our meal extra special. The food was lovely and a great atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

Food was nice enough and staff were friendly but had to wait quite a long time to get our food and the price of drinks was alarmingly dear.

We were gifted the 3 course Sunday lunch and it was wonderful. Food was delicious, service was excellent and overall a lovely experience.

Went using a Virgin Experience for Sunday lunch. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Atmosphere and surroundings lovely. Food was great. Really enjoyed the whole visit to Velvet Brasserie.
