The highlights of the meal were the salsa and sour cream. I ordered a plain white queso, while my date opted for the chorizo queso. However, I couldn’t get more than a few bites into mine before deciding it wasn’t worth the calories. My date didn’t order anything else, but I went for the chicken hard taco plate, which is my usual choice at Mexican restaurants. The taco shells reminded me of store-brand varieties; they weren't bad, but the chicken was awful. I found the first taco to be just passable, perhaps because I was quite hungry. By the time I started on the second taco, I couldn’t finish it; I kept tasting a boiled-meat flavor that reminded me of dirty water. I tried the third taco out of curiosity, and it was the same unpleasant experience. My initial hunger had masked the bad taste, but I was left thoroughly disappointed. When we got the check, it came to $52 (including a 20% tip). I would honestly prefer to spend that same amount at Taco Bell rather than return here. I decided against complaining about the food because the issues were too widespread to pinpoint one specific problem, and I’m not sure how they could rectify it. I hope they make improvements to maintain the traffic they get, but at this rate, it’s hard to see how they can sustain success.
We enjoyed the chips and salsa, and the margaritas were excellent, with a variety of flavors to choose from. The service was fantastic. The restaurant features typical Mexican decor, which is vibrant and colorful, and the premises are kept clean.
I 'm 25 years old and they refused to serve me alcohol because my id wouldn 't scan since it 's a Mississippi I 'd. Refused to look at my actual date of birth, and basically implied it was a fake. Don 't go here for a good time.
Yummy food, Great atmosphere!! Margaritas are so good. We love the service and the people. Check it out.
I recently stumbled upon this restaurant on Sunday, and I'm so glad I did! First off, the salsa is absolutely fantastic—perfectly spiced with a nice kick, not too mild and not overwhelming. We ordered lunch for three, and it was so generous that we ended up with enough food for three additional meals. I'm excited to try more dishes from their menu in the future. I heard that the owner previously worked at another restaurant but had a passion for cooking that they didn't support. Their loss is definitely Mandeville's gain! This place has been around for a while, and I'm thrilled that he decided to open his own restaurant. The colorful decor really adds to the welcoming atmosphere as well.
