Contribuisci feedbackStumbled upon this hidden gem while exploring Ashwem and had the best time! I asked for a Chorizo Pizza but the owner said it would take around 30 mins so I decided to check out their gin joint on top. To my surprise, they had a well curated gin menu. The bartender was friendly and made some exquisite cocktails which I would highly recommend! Also, the pizza was (by far) the best I've had in Goa!
Just a feedback about the other night (Friday 3rd Dec) As great a host as you are, Matt(and a lovely person), and the amazing food you dish out, your service needs much improvement and the cocktails most definitely need to step up to justify the price point. A few things observed based on the two visits I did in the past few weeks: 1) menu needs to be at the table once the guest is seated. Confusion about table reservation. 2) someone should attend to the guests to take the initial order at least and suggest the specials. 3) attentiveness to taking orders. The other day we ordered the baked brie, mussels, hummus and 2 bread baskets. The brie wasn't prepared well(the previous visit a week ago was much better) and we had to send it back to get it heated up. It was cold and under cooked. Only 1 bread basket was brought out with the undercooked cooled down brie and the hummus. Then we had to remind about the second portion of breads which arrived much later. So the entire experience of having the brie and hummus with the breads was a little off. 3) table clearance once dishes are done eating. I understand it was a full house on Friday, but that's expected on a music event evening and it isn't a surprise when you know guests have booked a seat at your restaurant. Our table looked cluttered and messy, but it was sweet of you to clear it later on your own. Your staff needs to be attentive and proactive. 4) cocktails at the main bar have been disappointing both visits. There is inconsistency in the same cocktail ordered over a period of time in the same evening. If a guest is paying 600 700 for a cocktail, s/he expects consistently being served good cocktails. I had 3 cocktails on Friday and each deteriorated in quality as the evening progressed. (The Gin Joint doesn't feature in this and I still love the cocktails up at the Gin Joint). My friends mother who ordered the same cocktail as me, agreed with this. And the previous week, the cocktail I had at the bar down was just regular like at any beach shack, therefore we moved to the gin joint later that night and stayed there. Either reduce the prices of the cocktails, or please improve the quality and consistency. 5) the bill took a long time to be presented after being requested. Yes I totally understand that it was Friday night with a full house. Yes it's overwhelming and you have put a lot into this restaurant, but similar effort needs to be from your partners/colleagues/staff. Verandah is a great restaurant and I do recommend it often to friends and relatives visiting Mandrem, but in my humble opinion, you may lose out on the regulars who live in Goa and would like to visit more often than the weekend tourists. Areas of improvement Service, bar drinks, customer satisfaction, consistency. Positives great host (Matt), friendly staff, lovely ambience, good food I've tried to be as objective in my feedback as possible, and it's not meant to hurt sentiments, only improve your establishment.
The place is really well done in terms of decor and ambience. Do check out the in-house clothing store- Karwaan. Pizzas are a must try too!
Very cute date spot. Susegad(relaxed) service. Interesting food. Have had a few dining experiences mostly good ones. Churros is on point
Great food, amazing vibe and very peaceful place! Food and drinks are good, you should definitely visit this place if you are around Mandrem.
