Not much of a walk from the huge parking lot. Plenty of place at different levels to take in the beautiful sight! If one wants to go down for a closer look, there 's a small fee of ₹5/ . Well made steps with balustrade. Amazing views. One of the best waterfalls. For the parched throats and hungry souls, there 's the KSTDC Hotel Mayura Bharachukki virtually next door, just 500m from the parking lot.
The Barachukki waterfall roughly 130 km from Bangalore, it is one of the two major falls arising out of the Shivanasamudra dam. Currently there is very less volume of water in the waterfalls due to less rain in the area. Better to visit the waterfall post August or during September month. Note: 1. This is a popular tourist attraction and can get very crowded later in the day during weekends. 2. Try to visit this place during morning hours, the gates open at 9 AM, before that there is no entry inside. 3. You would have to cross a couple of kilometres of very poor road conditions to reach the place. 4. There are no good restaurants (The Mayura restaurant is around 1 km away) so either one has to have their breakfast/lunch beforehand or carry it. 5. Carry sufficient amount of water and some snacks that will be helpful. Amenities: Rs.20 is charged as Vehicle parking charges. Ample parking space is available. Rs.5 per person is charged as Entry fee to falls area. Currently one cannot go all the way down to the falls barricade has been put in place. One has to view the falls and capture photographs from a distance. Drinking water and wash room facilities are also available within the premises.

Another gorgeous waterfall just 130 KMs from Bangalore has a scenic view from the view points constructed closer to the falls. The intensity with which water falls gives a beautiful smoky view. The best time to visit this place is immediately after monsoon or when water is plenty. Falls is surrounded by lush green landscapes. There is ample of parking around. There are some small eateries at the entrance and a KSTDC hotel and restaurant also. Apart from these, there are many places on the way.
