On my recent visit to Bapammas, I realised how an ambience can add flavour to the food that you tasted. Bapammas is a traditional house that has been converted into a restaurant. Thus the place is synonym to the name of the eatery.<br/ <br/ The structured rooms provide you a private space to add conversations to your meal.<br/ It's famous for serving fish dishes prepared in various Mangaloreon styles. Among the tawa fry/masala fry and rava fry options we tried the masala fry option of meru meen along with the ultimate choice bondas ghee roast. The fishes were as delicious as any Mangaloreon would expect it to be. Along with it obvious choices we also ordered an chicken biryani. The masala of the biryani is worth appreciation, not too spicy and no heavy aroma. <br/ <br/ A place worth many visits.<br/
This was an amazing experience!!! We were to visit a restaurant called Machali..just opposite to this restaurant.. wanting to taste Mangalorian food and so we landed at this place...very clean and neat..homely atmosphere..coming to the food...enjoyed to the fullest...absolutely authentic preparation and fresh seafood served with all smiles!! What else can one expect!!! Shell fish..Anjal fish fry (king fish)..fish curry rice...fingerlicking!!! Overall a must try!!A suggestion to the restaurant owners to have a display board on the main road or towards the entry lane approaching the restaurant would add to gain customers genuinely in search of good authentic food!!!
We happen to be at this place during our visit to Surathkal Mangalore, we were looking for authentigested manglorean food. Localites suggested to try BAPPAMAS. Initially when we entered this place it was like some one home where there are couple of tables placed, but the waited and the lady owner was very humble and made us occupy the tables later they suggested to try Korri roti, Ghee roast prawns, ghee roast chicken, Anjal (king fish curry) brown rice. All the items were very good especially korri roti. Ghee roast prawns is good but too much of ghee makes dish greasy and heavy. But must try is Anjal (King fish) curry with rice. Awesome coconut based gravy with fresh water Anjal fish. <br/ <br/ Food- 4 star<br/ <br/ Ambiance- 2.5 Star<br/ <br/ Service- 3 Star.<br/ <br/ Cost- 900 for 4<br/ <br/ Don't expect frill but simple authentic food.<br/ <br/ Visited August 2016
