Jesse's On The Waterfront - Mangonui

A good Thai restaurant. The Tom Ka soup was excellent. The satay sauce was too much on the coconut side for my likings. The other dishes were good. They have lots of vegan options which I for. Only 1 big downer: The kitchen exhaust seems to develop too little power, so the smoky fumes remain in the restaurant. This is extremely unfortunate and the clothes stink accordingly afterwards. Nevertheless, this Thai is absolutely recommendable.

Went here tonight for dinner absolutely awesome. All of our meals were so delicious and the portions were very generous. Great atmosphere and the view is spectacular. Strongly recommend! Everyone thinks of the fish and chip place in Mangonui but this is so much better!

Best Tom Yum we 've ever had!! We don 't get to Mangōnui often, but we 've got a good reason to come back, now. Delicious food with generous portion sizes. Left feeling thoroughly stuffed and satisfied. If you 're a real fan of spice, pick the '**** hot ' option to get your lips and tongue tingling! Duck curry was smooth and creamy, and the sizzling beef was tender and went fantastic with the coconut rice highly recommended!

This is our favourite Thai restaurant hands down! We come everytime we are visiting the Far North from Auckland. The food is outstanding in all areas. We have sometimes tried a few things that we like less than others, but we have found our favourites and they are unmatched by any Auckland Thai restaurant that we have tried. Emily is so accommodating when we have previously had issues booking due to our limited phone reception.

Honestly... the best Thai we have had in NZ. We wish there was something this good in Auckland, it would be a weekly visit. All the seafood dishes were fresh, soft and full of flavour. The duck was phenomenal. The beef was soft and grill of flavour. The Tom Yum was one of the best we have had, we just wish we got the ‘**** hot’. If you like hot food, go for ‘**** hot’. Come open up a restaurant in Auckland please! And show them how Thai food should be. Thank you very much The Thai team! Don’t change a thing.
