Great service and food for a birthday/weekend night out!
Food was delicious and the outside dining was nice! Staff was attentive.
This is probably one of my favorite Sushi Restaurants of all time. The ambiance is perfect for my tastes and the selections are out of this world! One of the reasons why I love this place is that some of the dishes are real pieces of art. As a designer I really appreciate how some restaurants really put in the extra effort in the aesthetic aspect of their dishes. When ever I go there I always blow a TON of cash because of it lol. The food and drinks are top notch so it's all good. When I went last I had a server in training and both the trainer and trainee were both excellent. Really love great service. I also tried something new which was the Kobe Beef roll. Never had that before. It was different and quite delicious. They also still have the Covid barriers/table/booth separators up too so if you are a little nervous about going out that might offer a little comfort.Anyways, don't take my word for it, when you're in the downtown napa area definitely give Eiko's a shot!
We had a lovely evening sat at the bar (not the sushi bar, but will do so next visit). Our server was wonderful, and the general atmosphere was both accommodating and comfortable. Timing on food presentation was abnormally good: we ordered a fair amount for two people but dishes were brought out in a logical progression and spaced out perfectly. I gave the food 4 stars as Iâm used to âfussierâ sushi experiences, but this was at the upper end of the less choosy places Iâve been to. Eiko hit the essentials: the rice was warm, with good tooth and looseness, and the sushi was all excellently sourced and cut. A couple of nit picks that did not diminish enjoyment: some may like the fact that the nigiri portions were quite large, but I prefer smaller. The selection was also quite limited to the usual suspects but what they did offer was delicious. The Uni was particularly noteworthy: brilliant color and texture, with a clean sea air entry and nutty finish. A+ On the downside, I found the tempura batter to be a bit heavy and overbearing. Not sure if thatâs an intentional style/interpretation, but I found myself removing about half the coating so I could taste the underlying shrimp and vegetables. With the exception of Japanese curry centered âhome foodâ style restaurants, dressings tend to be light and bright, however I found myself dipping my house salad in the yuzu sauce leftover from the hamachi jalapeí±o set to cut the cloying sweet/mustard dressing. The bill was reasonable, especially for the location. The menu holds a wide range of offerings that should ensure everyone in a large group finds something appealing. It also means thereâs much to return for, which I look forward to doing when Iâm back in the area.
