Nothing stood out, but nothing was terrible. The atmosphere is great for being down a couple doors from a Harbor Freight. It 's on the end of the building and is quite large with very attractive decor and just the right amount of lighting. The crowd that night was young college students. The place feels clean and well maintained.I ordered a side salad and finally had to ask for it when my main meal arrived. The best part was the queso with the chips. Our waitress just seemed distracted and the place was running at about 20% capacity. My wife and I shared a Cinco sampler platter. We both felt it all tasted basically the same. My daughter ordered Suiza Con Pollo. She describes it as just okay, but kinda bland for Mexican. There just weren 't any stand out flavors like other Mexican food establishments. Parking: It shares parking with a good sized strip mall.
This is a mandatory stop when visit Manhattan. The food is good, the service is good and it is a fun atmosphere. Please bring back the chef's creations select menu.
Was not impressed with the food. Service was good just wish the food was as good as the service.
We ordered $100 worth of food and the only decent item was the queso. The beef fajita was not tender or marinated, the tortillas were not cooked or warmed at all, the beans were dry, the rice was from an instant package, the red salsa was bitter, the green salsa was just blended tomatillos with no other ingredients or seasonings, and the guacamole had white shredded cheese on top. Not worth it at all.
Brought my friend who has never been to Carlos. She agreed. AMAZING FOOD. The service was fantastic and we even got to take our salsa home in to-go cups! Truly could not ask for more. ? I’m so happy that one of the remaining Kansas Carlos O’Kelly’s is THRIVING. Give it a try!
