Pikes Peak Inn - Manitou Springs

I hope the owners of this hotel read this and become aware of howtheir staff is undermining their business (see photos). New guests should also be informed of what to expect.The location is excellent, close to everything. Last year, the servicewas also good; however, this year, it was practically non-existent.During our 4-day stay, there was no room service whatsoever. There was no cleaning, no replenishment of towels, and no addition of soap or shampoo. The reception office door remained locked for most of the day. On the first morning, the lady at the reception appeared at 8:10 and began preparing breakfast while we and other guests waited outside for her to finish.The following two mornings, there was absolutely no breakfast provided – no coffee, no hot water, just a single banana and a small amount of orange juice in a bottle in the fridge. And it's not like we were late; this was right at the beginning of breakfast: either the door was completely locked, or it was open but there was no staff, and no food.The reception area floor was so dirty that it looked as if a herd of horses had trodden through with muddy hooves. Yes, there had been a heavy rain two days prior,but no one bothered to clean the area in front of the entrance,causing all the dirt to be tracked inside. The floor remaineduncleaned throughout our entire stay.By the way, there was no hairdryer in the room either, and there were no facial tissues or any other paper napkins available.Aug.2023.

Where to start first, Jovanna, the sweet lady who runs the hotel went above and beyond to accommodate us! We preferred having an upstairs room I am a light sleeper) so after seeing our downstairs room, she was able to move us upstairs. Is this place old? Yes. But it was super clean and we ended up with the corner room that had a balcony overlooking the creek that ran behind the hotel. There is an outdoor sitting area that is also near the creek. Talk about relaxing to just listen to the rushing water! The location was perfect for walking all over town and super close to the bus stops #33 goes to Pikes Peak and #36 will get you to walking distance of Garden of the Gods). Breakfast was coffee prewrapped breakfast items which was great for us). They use key pads for room entry so no more room keys if you are nostalgic). The bathrooms were updated and roomy. Sure it looks a little dated, but we were there for the beautiful scenery. Any issues while you are staying all you have to do is ask Jovanna and she’ll be happy help you. My wife and I stayed here due to an emergency with our apartment. When checking in we were met with a warm smile by Mandy. She had just started but had the knowledge of how things worked. Our room was clean and cool thankfully. Despite the circumstances surrounding our stay, my wife and I had a nice time and were able to relax. I highly recommend this place in the heart of Manitou Springs.

The one thing this place going for it is it’s location. Your steps away from downtown Manitou Springs and all its shops. Other than than, there’s not much too this place. I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel where you actually used a key and not a card to open your door! This place is old and outdated. Is the worst placed I’ve ever stayed? Not even close! Is it the nicest? Nope. Still, the lady at the front desk is one of the nicest and most helpful people I’ve ever met. That alone was worth staying here. Don’t get me wrong though, this place needs a lot of help. I think the paint on the outside is older than me ? Carpet is stained, bed sags, and the shower stall can barely fit one person…it is SMALL! Overall, I like it. It’s not a Hilton, but for a tourist town, it’s just right. If you just need a place to stay for the night, this is really a nice place. Close to shopping g and some amazing food places. Give it a shot!!! ??

We booked three nights but had to leave after night one. They said they would credit us for night three. We followed up on the credit three times in the following week with promises but no results. If you're going to take advantage of me, just tell me up front to save time. This motel is run down and in need of renovation. It's a shame since it's such a great location. Also, the front office is not staffed so good luck with the grab n go breakfast or any needed assistance. My advice is to keep your expectations very low. If you have high standards, it's best to avoid this place.
