We stayed for 2 nights at the Motel and when we left we asked the owner could he please once again pass on our thanks and congratulations to the chef, only to find that the chef had worked at Frasers Restaurant, Kings Park. No wonder the food was wonderful.
One of the best restaurants in the South West. Dishes are of a really high class. excellent deserts. the presentation is excellent. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly.
I always visit the Kingsley Motel/Restaurant when in WA's South West. Apart from the very warm staff providing excellent service, the meals are wonderful. The chef prepares the most delicious meals across a range of cuisines. The steaks have always been tender and the plates generous.
I have dined at the Kingsley a few times over the past few years and it has definitely improved in terms of service and ambience. For the most part, the food was delicious and there was a relaxed vibe . We had the duck spring rolls and pork belly for entree which has absolutely amazing tasteful, good size and reasonable prices. I personally don 't like having to order entree and main at the same time as often, in my experience, the main comes out too quickly. I asked if we could order entree and then mains later but the young waitress said no as the chef likes time to prepare. Fair enough but there was 6 minutes between our entree hitting the table and our main arriving it felt a bit rushed which is disappointing. For the main, I always order the Marron risotto always hands down the best risotto! I was extremely disappointed to say the least. My risotto arrived to the table and I knew immediately that there was either a disaster in the kitchen or a new chef. My risotto was a bowl of cooked rice literally floating in garlic cream sauce I tasted my husbands garlic prawns, which were delicious, and the sauce was exactly the same. there was a piece or two of Marron swimming in the dish. I really loved the food overall but still think there needs to be more time between entree and main to allow patrons to have a drink, conversation ect. and I also would sadly advise against ordering the risotto good thing is, there are heaps of alternative tasty dishes to choose from.
The staff were very friendly, typical country WA courtesy. The rooms in which we stayed were recently refurbished, stylish, well laid out and just right. The bed was very comfortable. I was one of a party of three travelling for business. We each ordered different meals from the menu, prime scotch fillet, chicken and reef, and vegetarian beetroot cake risotto. All were delivered together and were excellent. Wine selection was local and varied. Sweets portions could have been smaller. Breakfast had a great variety of choices.
