I finally dared to go back to Henninger's Gutsschänke, as I heard that the old cook who stopped about 2 years ago is back!!! All I had eaten was how I had it from the past (tastefully perfect) I write this so explicitly because I was extremely left between many times and quality, now I can recommend this restaurant with a calm conscience, onion soup is like I know it from there (very tasty) Rumpsteak started to the point and tender like sour, and finally the old salad sauce again! The service of Mrs. Gabi and Mr. Jeske made no wishes open!!!! Come back soon...
Yesterday was the first time there. Rustic furnished but very nice. All very nice. How will definitely come back.
After a full day visit to Mannhein – sometimes on foot, sometimes with the tram we were quite tired and hungry in the evening. The RK app showed us various restaurants near the National Theatre. Since we are not for cold rice, we chose the Henninger Gutsschänke, which we reached after a few hundred meters. We entered the a little tempted restaurant and only in the second room came to the staff, two gentlemen who stayed behind or next to the vault. The greeting of the two employees was rather short, the question of a table for two was that we could choose a place in the safe room or in the adjoining guest room. After we had room in the neighboring room, we got the menus after a short waiting period. All in all, the waiter who was responsible for us did not make the impression of great interest, he obviously did only his routine. In the later question of the additions, he did not try to point out that a juicy supplement would be due to the roast potatoes. However, this can also happen with intent, after reading similar in previous reviews, this seems to me to be a method. Food The menu offer is limited on two sides in the main dishes, and the speciality of the Palatinate specialities are offered. We both chose “Henningers House Plate (Saumagen, Leberknödel, Bratwurst and Reb Plants” (12.80 €). There were no supplements on the map, and on the question of the waiter whether we wanted bread or roast potatoes, we chose both roast potatoes, which later buck at 3.50 € per serving. After an even more appropriate waiting period, the house plates were served, all components visually made a good impression and also tasted very well, with the Saumagen, who was a premiere for both of us, really surprisingly good. But what was then served in a separate bowl had nothing in common with roast potatoes. No reasonable roasts, no onions, no bacon – there were simple fried and fatty potato slices that were still largely tasteless, a malice given the desired price. Then we left the majority. Ambience Old, old-fashioned furniture with a lot of solid wood, in places somewhat cumbersome, and with numerous old decorative objects on the walls. The tables were without tablecloths, only covered with a narrow fabric ribbon, and there were fabric sets on which cutlery and a paper nip were crushed, and on each table there was a brass vase with a flower, salt and pepper shaker. Cleanliness Due to the antique furniture individual dust nests and crumbs cannot be avoided very clean. However, plates, glasses and cutlery were clean, the toilets (still acceptable).
Very cozy rustic atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staff was very accessible. All right.
