King Crab House - Mansfield

I really love this restaurant. The food, the service and the drinks were great. We had the family seafood fest and it was my first time having crawfish in a seafood boil and I loved it and I also love the sauce that the restaurant boiled into the seafood. I will definitely visit again.

Came to King Crab House for a late gathering and had a great experience. As we arrive, the staff were quick to find us a table with drinks and menus. There were a nice selection of seafood and Cajun dishes at super affordable prices compared to other seafood restaurants. Because it was late, we only had there fried oysters and chicken wings. The fried oysters were nicely battered, crispy and very tasty. The wings, Cajun and lemon pepper style were on steroids. They were humongous size wings that were seasoned nicely and very crispy, perfectly made for my taste. We left being very satisfied and extremely happy. With great prices, food and staff? we will certainly come again for sure.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: I love the location and the atmosphere. The food is just average. I appreciated the option of headless shrimp.

**Drinks Ordered:** Strawberry Lemonade (kids), Lemon Drop Martini, Strawberry Margarita **Appetizer Ordered:** Seafood Dip **Entrées Ordered:** Popcorn Chicken (for the 8-year-old), Gumbo, 1 lb Crawfish (for my husband), Lobster House Pasta (for me), Snow Crabs with Boiled Shrimp, Potatoes, Corn, and Sausage **Review:** Let’s start with the drinks! The Lemon Drop Martini was bursting with lemon flavor, and they definitely didn’t skimp on the alcohol! The Strawberry Margarita was enjoyable too, but I thought it could have been a bit thicker. Perhaps it wasn’t as thick because we were among the first customers of the day, and the Margarita machine might have needed a little time to get going. The kids loved their Strawberry Lemonades as well. For our appetizer, we tried the Seafood Dip, which included a delightful mix of shrimp, scallops, crab, mozzarella, cheddar, and Cajun seasoning. The cheese blended beautifully with the seafood medley! Served with buttered French bread for dipping, each bite was absolutely amazing. I ended up eating so much of this dip that I was too full to finish my entrée. **Entrées:** 1. **Lobster House Pasta:** The lobster was steamed and perched atop house-made pasta with a delicious marinara sauce. The sauce had a touch of sweetness, perfectly balancing the seasonings. In hindsight, this dish would have paired better with a glass of white wine instead of the Lemon Drop Martini. A tip for this dish: try dipping the lobster meat in melted butter and then taking a bite of the marinara-soaked pasta—it's an unforgettable combination! This dish was fantastic, and, as usual, I couldn’t finish it all, so I enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day. 2. **Gumbo:** As a native of New Orleans, I hold strong opinions about Gumbo because, in my hometown, we make the best! I have specific standards when I try Gumbo elsewhere, and it’s hard for any other version to measure up. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience with delicious food and refreshing drinks!

I went there with my mom, who used to live in Alaska, hoping to enjoy some crab legs. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst dinner we've ever had, costing us $100. We ordered the king crab and shrimp pot, along with garlic bread. The highlight of the experience was our server, D. Unfortunately, the garlic bread was overloaded with raw garlic to the point that it burned our tongues. We specifically requested no spice, but the shrimp weren’t cleaned properly, the potatoes were excessively spicy, and the corn was old. To top it off, the crab was tasteless, and the drawn butter was just a bland yellow oil. Overall, it was a terrible choice.
