Great Food, Great Owners/Employees, Great Music. And every local Person I spoke to all had Super Wonderful things about Gilligan’s and how his business has helped the local economy when fishing season is slow. He fills their hotels, other Restaurants, and stores. One lady said the only reason she’s employed in the off season at the hotel is because of Jeffery Davidson and Gilligan’s bringing people to their town. Folks it don’t get no better than when all the locals talk about you like that!!
I used to be a picky eater, but over the past 25 years, I have expanded my palate and enjoyed delicious dishes. The food at this restaurant was mild yet flavorful and cooked perfectly. I would have liked a bit more seasoning on the vegetables, but that didn't detract from my overall experience. The staff was efficient and friendly. I tried the grand slam, 1.5 lbs of crab (which was cooked perfectly) and 2.5 lbs of crab with potatoes and corn. The only downside was that the vegetables were not seasoned well. Additionally, they have a convenient drive-thru option available.
The crawfish were mostly small, slightly overcooked, and over-seasoned. It was obvious that they were not cleaned before cooking. The mayonnaise sauce that came with them was unimpressive. I recommend that the owner of this place visit Bros Cajun Cuisine to taste how crawfish should be prepared with a true cajun flavor.
I absolutely adore this restaurant and its owner and staff.
