I recalled a Vietnamese restaurant, Thai Square, just a few minutes away. Upon arrival, we found a small, empty restaurant with only a few tables. The menu was extensive, and we decided on a few dishes to share. I inquired about the preparation of the meat in the Pho dishes, but the server didn't have the answers. We ordered the house special Pho, a grilled chicken Banh Mi Thit, and a pork belly Bao. The soup was delicious and plentiful for all of us. However, when my daughter asked about the sauce on the Banh Mi, the server was unable to provide an answer. It is important for servers to have knowledge of the menu, especially for customers with allergies. Despite this, I appreciated the server's advice on trying new dishes. I believe that a restaurant's success lies in the staff's ability to guide customers through the menu. I am willing to give this restaurant another chance in hopes of a better experience. Servers should be well-informed about the food they are serving.
The restaurant was clean and bustling with customers when we arrived, which was a good sign. We decided to try a variety of dishes, including pho, pad thai, and general tao chicken. The pho was average, the pad thai had too many bean sprouts and was overly sweet with a strong fish sauce flavor. The general tao chicken did not resemble any general tao dish I have had before. It consisted of tiny, leftover chicken pieces swimming in a watery sauce that lacked seasoning. Overall, the dish was unappetizing and difficult to chew.
If you're in the mood for quick, casual Vietnamese cuisine in the Vaughan area, Beat Square is the place to go. The owners and staff at Vrolls are extremely welcoming and provide excellent service. Although the restaurant is small, it offers a cozy atmosphere. The vermicelli bowl was fresh, especially the chicken, and surpassed other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. A bonus is that they are also available on UberEats for delivery. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, so don't hesitate to give them a try.
If you're looking for fast casual, Vietnamese cuisine to eat, this is the beat place to come to in Vaughan.
