The mashed potato gravy was unappetizing, with a jelly-like consistency and a crust from being kept under heat lamps. For the two blackened walleye dinners, one fillet was perfectly cooked, while the other was grey and slimy, with an unpleasant taste reminiscent of mud. I asked the waitress to take the bad fillet back, as it was too fishy for us to eat. A few minutes later, the cook came out—not with an apology or an offer to provide something different—but rather to tell me that he had tasted the fish I sent back and believed it was fine. He even suggested that I shouldn’t order fish again. I assured him it wasn’t a big deal, acknowledging that bad fillets happen, and that my wife and I would just share the steak instead. However, he continued to suggest that I would probably find fault with the steaks as well. In reality, we were enjoying them at that moment. I was taken aback by the cook’s behavior—it’s uncommon to see a cook approach a customer in such a confrontational manner. An apology and a replacement would have been more appropriate. The whole incident put a damper on the evening for my family and kids. He was fortunate that I didn’t want to create any more drama, especially since I had a large party with me; otherwise, I might have left. After that encounter, our waitress was disappointing and seemed quite curt, as if I had done something wrong. I had only sent back food that I wasn’t satisfied with and hadn’t requested a replacement. We all settled our bills and left a tip, and they did remove the charge for the fish, which was expected after the disrespectful exchange with the cook. On our way out, some members of our group stopped to use the restroom, and we overheard our waitress and some locals at the adjacent table openly criticizing us. While the locals may enjoy that behavior, no one in my group will ever return, and I certainly won’t recommend this place to others. The service and atmosphere were both very good, also rated at 4 out of 5. Additionally, there was plenty of parking available in a free lot, making it easy to visit. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a satisfying lunch!

Excellent food, everything homemade, even the potatoes and chicken gravey. My meal tasted like a Xmas or turkey dinner. Chicken was amazing and just juicy and moist. Don't miss out!
