We went to the restaurant with a group of our neighbors' kids for the Wednesday burger night. We sat outside on the patio at two tables. The adults chatted while the kids played in the field. If you purchase a drink, you can get a burger for $3.99 and add extra toppings. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. The burgers and fries were served hot. There is plenty of parking available, although some spots further away may require a bit of a walk.
We were here for a special event for over 100 people. The restaurant prepared an outstanding buffet including steak cooked to order! The food was very flavourful and the steak was tender and properly cooked as well an amazing feat when serving that number of individuals. The service was friendly and the servers were most personable. Although we did not eat off the regular menu, we looked at it and found it very inexpensive and with enough choices as well. The only downside for this pub is that is is hard to find though as it is quite remote and out in the country. Unless you are going to the Equestrian Centre on the back road, you'd never know it was there! Although there is lots of parking, the lot is gravel with lots of potholes.
Situated in the Equestrian Centre off the beaten path, this restaurant offers plenty of parking outside. When we entered, we noticed a slight musty smell, but were greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress who allowed us to choose our own table. The menu consists of typical pub fare, but the prices are very reasonable. Our meals arrived promptly and were served hot. I thoroughly enjoyed my fish burger, which came with a generous portion of fish. Even though it was our first time dining here, we will definitely be back. The value of two meals with beer or wine for $25 is outstanding.
There is nothing redeeming about this place. It is a bit rustic: wooden floors, windows around; some views of the paddocks, a few mounted animals, and a gas fire place tucked in the corner. There are a few screens to watch as well. There is a bar but there are restrictions about taking drinks to the patio. Currently there is a motion before the city to expand the liquor license to the outside seating area. The food is not gourmet; frozen paddies but fresh buns, and the presentations looks good. Previous times I had the steak, this time drinks and burger. It seems I come here for functions: fundraisers, and retirements. The place is comfortable; the staff are friendly and provide good service. Parking is free but limited, or better yet, ride your horse!
