Contribuisci feedbackI've been here a few times and wish I loved it. Last time was a year or more ago when I got a few rotten crawfish in a boil. This time I got the shrimp boil. The seasoning was excellent, corn was great, sausage was yummy, biscuit was perfect, etc. The shrimp, the main feature, was over cooked. Slightly mushy meat, sticking to the shell, heads were soft... For what this place was and I hope is still trying to be, and for the money, this is just ridiculous. I'm not a complainer. I was chatting with a new friend at the bar and didn't want to be that guy. But, any server that knows anything about shrimp could have seen that it was over cooked if they watched me trying to peel it. Also, I've read other reviews that say they claim the freshness is the cause for the shells sticking. It's hard for me to believe that gulf shrimp in STL wasn't frozen. If it wasn't then it needs an ice bath before you boil/steam it.
Best raw oysters I've had in STL! Cool atmosphere great service.
They were about to accommodate our large group and everything was fantastic. The oysters and lobster roll were delicious!
Very tasty food, and everything was piping hot- I was surprised that the fried green tomatoes were so good I preferred them to the lobster bisque! Kid-friendliness: They were able to provide plastic to-go cups for the kids drinks, and the fries and lemonade were amazing ? they did have boosters and highchairs available, as well, but no kids menu- lobster mac'n'cheese was a bit highbrow for my kids
The catfish poorboy was excellent, and they serve real lemonade! I would advise against the chips, however: they taste good, but they were baked too long, and too hard as a result. Mind that they do serve lobster and crab, but it is expensive. I may try that the next time I visit.
