I have walked by this little cafe bistro for years noticing it was always buzzing with Spaniards. This year I decided to stop in for coffee as the paseo cafes are just so expensive in Marbella. I was so glad I did as this is definitely the best coffee in Marbella at a fraction of the cost. The pan con tomate is a very andulusian breakfast but worth trying. Next trip to Marbella I plan to try their tapas wine....watch this space
Our car broke down today and we went to the Marbella Hertz for a replacement car. While we were waiting we saw this restaurant across the street and stopped by for a meal. They had a 4 course special plus drink for only EU 8.90. For my daughter, husband, and I we ordered 3 fixed meals. For the starters, we had paella, mixed salad, and melon with ham. The paella was much better than the expensive restaurant inside the touristy old town. The mixed salad included fresh lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and tuna. The melon with ham had the sweetest melon and best tasting ham we've had this week in Spain. The starters along could have been my full meal. For the main course, my husband had the roast dark they didn't have white) chicken half with potato blocks covered in spicy mayo sauce. My daughter had pork covered in pizza like sauce and freshly fried potato chips spiced with herbs and salt. I had pork covered in mushroom sauce and mixed salad. They tasted so delicious, all three of us couldn't help but stuffed ourselves. For desert, we had ice cream, flange, and coffee in place of another desert since we were simply too full). Not only they were delicious they also came in big portions. Included in the meal package my husband had a glass of red wine, my daughter and I had bottled water. My husband also order an additional mixed drink Mojito $5). The total bill came out to be less than EU35. It was quite a value. But on top of that the food tasted like real food and very delicious. The waiter said their menu changed everyday depending on the materials they had each day. They would post their special offers at the entrance. When I search Googles, this place didn't even exist as of February 2014. It was a different restaurant at the time. Both my daughter and husband loved the place and would like to come back again.
