The food was seasoned well and came out fresh and hot. The service was provided by Shani. Shani did an excellent job, she knows the business and has excellent customer service. Jerry
I have now eaten here twice. Here is a summary of my two experiences: Food: There are a lot of fancy restaurants that could take a very real lesson from Doc 's the food does not have to be frufru to be incredible! Make sure you go on Thursday and have their prime rib special. This may be the first time I have had prime rib since 2000 that I did not have horseradish sauce along with it. I didn 't even realize it was missing until the meal was done. The meat was tender and wonderful and laying in a brown gravy type sauce that was to die for. The other meal was grilled shrimp Alfredo. I do NOT like shrimp, but even to me, they looked well prepared. She loved it so much that she got a spoon to slurp out the last of the sauce. Dessert was the blueberry peach cobbler. It was absolutely delicious. Yeah, they had other interesting, looking desserts on the menu, but I cannot imagine getting anything else. The other meal I got there was one of their hamburgers. They are custom made, by hand, by the each, to order. They make their own hamburger, as well. It is an experience you need to have at least once in your life. Service: In my two visits there, I have spoken with the owner, the general manager, and many of the staff. All of them are incredibly friendly and reach out to you in a wonderful way. When you go there, ask for Kaiden to be your server. Don 't worry if she is not, but you are very lucky if she is. Ambience: They have done a very good job of pulling off the old timer atmosphere. It is pleasant, but not gaudy. General thoughts: The new owner took over several months ago, and has been making some significant changes to improve staff, quality, and their relationship with the customers. I have the happy blessing to have arrived after these changes took affect, and found this to be an incredibly pleasant dining experience. There is a side where they have music, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. The entertainment both times was very good. It would be nice if there was more room to dance, but we found a spot where we could at least do a little bit. The new owner changed things around so there was more room when he took over, so there are a few spots where dancing is possible. It is always permitted, so that 's not an issue. Conclusion: This is the nicest dining experience I have had in over 15 years. To people who have lived in the Marble Falls, Texas area, this might not be out of the ordinary I may not know that for a while, because I intend on frequenting Doc 's for a long time! If you live in the area, I suggest you go give it a shot. If you are visiting the area, I seriously suggest you make going here one evening while they have live music a must do on your agenda.
Great service and nice people- also super dog friendly , but its mostly bar quality food good with a cocktail.
First time here but no question we will be back. We went simply because of the name. It was a Friday evening and it wasn 't hard to get a place to park. Inside, it 's a bit rustic and much of what is in the place has probably been in place since restaurant was built. We are big fans of peel-n-eat shrimp and honestly, that was the first thing we looked for on the menu. It 's actually not very common but that was the selling point. We came a bit later and there was plenty of parking. Our server was Megan and she was very friendly and attentive. We were set on the peel and eat shrimp so that was first on the order. When she brought it out, she cautioned the horse radish was a bit spicier than most; she wasn 't joking! I love spicy and this is amazing. They seem to use Old Bay seasoning and the shrimp were good... but not as good as we hoped. I 'm not sure if the shrimp were overcooked or just not fresh shrimp. We are new to the area and everywhere we have been they serve this amazing fresh Texas gulf shrimp; I 'm not sure if this was but if it was fresh shrimp, it was overcooked which is easy to do with peel-n-eat. That all being said, we wouldn 't hesitate to order again and we will the next time. They menu has quite a few offerings of steak and seafood but just to keep it simple, we went with the Camp Burger and to mine, I added blue cheese crumbles. And for a side, I did the baked potato (loaded). It wasn 't long after we finished the shrimp she brought out our burgers. These are full size burgers and it looked like fresh ground beef; not some frozen patties. They ran out of lettuce and threw on some spinach. It comes with pickle, tomato and onion. And on the side, they provide mustard and mayonnaise. You know it 's a great burger when you don 't put any condiments at all on the burger and rare if the time when I don 't put any condiments on. But this burger is so flavorful, you don 't need to, and really shouldn 't, put any condiments on this burger. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and honestly, some of the BEST cheesecake I 've ever had. We even went back a few days later just to get some cheesecake. It 's a fun place and the food is pretty good. Definitely worthwhile trying and you really can 't go wrong.
Have never had a good piece of meat that was cooked properly at Doc's and the little, GM or owner, always has an excuse for everything. Recooks the meal right the second time but my question is, why not the first time. And I swear this has happened 4 times!! I know, stop poking my ear if it hurts. But my wife like a certain something on the menu and that's my cross to bear! Oh but the beard pudding is good but of course it's seasonal.
