Oyster Society - Marco Island

Got the seafood tower and beef tar tar. The seafood tower was split between 2 people and it was huge! Pricey, but worth the splurge. The tar tar was one of the best foods I've ever eaten!

Beautiful restaurant. Attended with my mother for her 73rd birthday and made reservations via Open Table. When we walked in, we waited about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us to seat us. If it had not been for a bartender getting the attention of the host, we would have been waiting longer. Service was impeccable however food was not. For the upscale ambience and higher cost of the dishes, I would expect much more. Between the two of us, we got one appetizer (shrimp and steak skewers) which steak was brown and overcooked, but had an overall good flavor. We also got complimentary bread with a ricotta/lemon spread which was overbearing in flavor. We each ordered an entrée, steak and dauphinoise potatoes... the steak was again way overcooked and dry. It was in yet again, another sauce (a red demi glaze of some sort) that was overbearing in taste...with Gorgonzola cheese on top of the steak. Could not even finish it because everything was smothered in this sauce. The other entree, was a Chilean sea bass, Oscar style ordered as an add on. AGAIN in a horrible cream lemon sauce that was so rich, I also could not even finish eating it and it was $66 with absolutely no sides. Overall, I think they need to relax with all the different overly rich sauces, raise the bar on the food they are putting out, and step it up with the front door/hostess service for the costs and vibes they are attempting. This was completely disappointing and I would not go back nor recommend. Very upsetting.

Very good overall. Dinner breads were excellent. Appetizers were tasty and well done. Grouper was nicely presented. Mahi was HUGE. All tasted great. Good job! Oh, drinks were professionally made and tasteful.

The food, service, cocktails, and ambience were all great! We went for our anniversary and they surprised us with a small complimentary dessert. That really helped to make the evening special. We will definitely be back.

The food was great, the service was great, and our only issue was the drinks. 2 of us sent back our drinks twice, and I'm not sure if they had a new bartender. It was always good in the past, but it felt like drinks were tempered, and that's not good at 15.00 each.
