I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. For only $4 per person, you can try all 14 of their dishes. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely return in the future.
Navigate through mango orchards to discover de Brueys Boutique Wines, a farm and vineyard offering the chance to sample and buy unique tropical fruit wines.
We typically prefer dry wines, but we are always open to trying new creations from winemakers. Despite working our way through the wine list, we did not find any options that we were interested in purchasing. However, we found the story behind the creation of the restaurant to be fascinating. The original owner had a vast mango grove, and when mango prices dropped, he decided to experiment with creating a new product to sell. This entrepreneurial spirit reminded us of a similar effort we witnessed with Wondaree Macadamia, where Greg took control of the growing, production, and sales processes.
This is an updated review of De Brucey's Boutique Wine. The lady who served us was friendly but unfortunately we were given the wrong product. We had a tasting of ENVY which was such a lovely melon crème liquer but unfortunately when we came home and opened the pack (nicely bubble wrapped), we found Tropical Paradise instead. Wrong Product given. We emailed the winery and were offered a free bottle of Envy on our next visit. (Don't even know when we will have the time or money to fly from Auckland to Cairns and to Mareeba again!) We asked them to ship us the bottle but unfortunately we had to pay for the postage which almost the cost of the bottle so we declined. Disappointed.
