Cafe Kaj 2012 - Mariagerfjord

Early morning coffee with brownie there decided us to have dinner there later the day. Happy we did, we had a greqt meal. Shared a tapas platter, (a single persons disch, but more than enough for us) Fish, meat, salads all great, fresh and well presented. After a 15 minute break we also shared a 5 cheeses platter. Again all really nice and well portioned. Staff is friendly, professional and fast. Don’t miss Café K when visiting Hobro.

We first visited Hobro and Cafe K a couple of years ago, and wanted a return visit. The food was excellent both times. Most recently we had the tapas and the salmon salad both great. The first time was rainy so we sat inside; this time it was nice so we sat outside overlooking the Mariager Fjord, and watching the local residents stroll to the little theater next door to catch a play. The chocolate cake with berries for dessert was also delicious.It's Denmark so it goes without saying that the beer was really good as well.

Good atmosphere with quite an up-market feel with 1930's style jazz music playing in the background. Food very good and service quick and friendly. More expensive than we would have liked to have paid but then Denmark has a higher standard of living than the UK. Three main meals and two soft drinks 489Kr £57.60). As almost always in Denmark staff spoke good English. Outside terraced area is covered against the weather. A short walk to the shops in the town. DISABLED ACCESS: Restaurant all on ground level so should not be a problem for wheelchair users. PARKING: We parked up he hill but the harbour area seemed to have unrestricted free parking. NOTE: When we went in June 2018 the harbour area was undergoing a lot of construction work to the road, pavement and parking areas.

We had lunch on a Sunday in June. Although it was sunny it was not warm so we opted to sit in the restaurant but that was full.We were lucky to get a table on the terras. We had the seafood platter and it was excellent. Staff was very friendly and all of them spoke English.

Really nice place next to the water. Went there with friends and even it was really crowded, we got our drinks and food quite fast. Really really great burgers and fries. Cosy environment and the service was great. We will be back.
