Over the last four years, I have visited Salt Wood with friends and loved ones and I continue to be amazed by their service and quality of food. The flavors, the ambiance and dedication to serve amazing dishes continues to surprise me in a delightful way. The staff (front and back) are clearly passionate about giving everyone a lasting impression. keep up the great work!
First, the positives: I had made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner here. The decor is lovely, and the food is decent. However, the dinner was served buffet-style, and for some reason, each course was set up in different areas of the restaurant, making the dining experience feel more like a scavenger hunt. Many of the items listed on the advertised menu were unavailable, and the portions that were served were small and below expectations. Some dishes were even served cold. Although the appetizers were brought directly to the table, it took over an hour for them to arrive. There was supposed to be live entertainment, but it was noticeably absent, and dogs were allowed to roam freely in the restaurant. The bathroom floors were sticky. Despite the restaurant being quite distant from the crowds, our experience was disappointing, especially given the cost. The staff was polite and did their best to assist, but it was clear that the entire evening was poorly managed. I cannot recommend this place, and I would have chosen elsewhere if I had thought there was a chance of finding another open restaurant.
I’ve had the pleasure of dining here several times, and each visit seems to get better. I was a bit concerned a while back, but it looks like they've really improved since Valentine’s Day. We celebrated Father’s Day there and shared a lovely steak for two. I dined there again recently, and the staff was extremely attentive. The drinks were delicious, and the oyster chef excelled at the grill. I absolutely loved the beet and quinoa salad, and the new watermelon salad looked tempting. We also shared shrimp with coconut, which was delightful! The BBQ ribs were amazing! I took a burger home, and they were very accommodating regarding my allergies. The drinks continue to impress. I’m excited to see what new items they add to the menu. I would love to see more steak options, and I hope they consider adding Averna to the bar menu. It would be great to have a more substantial Paper Plane cocktail, but I have no other complaints. Kudos to the new manager and the staff—I’m thrilled to see such wonderful changes!
The flavors were excellent, and the ambiance was lovely, complemented by good service. However, the oysters were quite small. We ordered several dishes (as seen in the photos) and really took our time enjoying the restaurant. The scallops were nice, but I prefer them prepared simply rather than with the charred coffee crust. The fresh oysters, though small, were delicious. I’d be curious to know if the grilled oysters are recommended.
