Less than one hour before our reservation time I received a phone call from the restaurant saying they wereclosed ?due to staffing issues?! Both families were already driving to Marion! What a disappointment! Surely someone knewabout ?staffing issues? prior to 11:00 this morning.
Lovely prairie gem. Cocktails/wine menu, had grilled swordfish....over done by a couple of minutes. The salsa on top was just chopped items and should be eliminated. As local purveyor/seasonal ingredients a corn, summer/winter squash/apple item wouldhave been a welcome authentic addition to the sides, or swordfish topping. LOVE, the carrot cake....phenomenal, gorgeous andmouth party. I will return over and over.
This was the perfect place to have dinner! we loved the special! Spinach mushroom stuffed tenderloin with mashed potatoes and a salad. Michelle Ultra on tap and an Ameretto Sour! we took a slice of Carrot Cake to go! 5
I have had steaks at many different establishments in the region, from Wichita to Kansas City at any price level. The filet at Parlour 1886 is as good as any I have had, the presentation and preparation is wonderful and consistent for each visit. The sides and app options are always fresh and innovative, yet not too outside steakhouse fare. The drinks bartender K create are popular with regulars and always a treat for those not expecting such a level of service and quality in rural Kansas. Her team of servers and wait staff are always attentive to every detail and make sure patrons feel comfortable and are accommodated. Parlour 1886 is a hidden gem in Marion and deserves the opportunity to impress those looking for a great evening and a fantastic dining experience.
