The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and tender, with the right seasoning. The soups were ordinary, nothing too special but not bad at all. However, the portion sizes seemed quite small compared to other Korean restaurants. Some reviews mentioned that the service was subpar, but when we were there, the service was fast and the servers, while not exceptionally friendly, were courteous and efficient. The restaurant offers free Wi-Fi. The food is not cheap considering the quality and quantity, but it is definitely worth a try.
The service was average at best. I had to signal for attention from the staff. When I tried to pay, I was stopped by the server who complained that my tip was insufficient and refused to let me leave until I gave more. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
This review is for the Downtown Bloor West Korean Town location of the restaurant. They serve piping hot crispy, juicy, and spicy Korean fried chicken with a variety of sauces and dressings. The skin has a powdery surface similar to Poppy's version rather than KFC. The flavor relies heavily on condiments and sauces. Side dishes like the Cheese corn stand out. However, service from the lone female server is extremely slow. I personally prefer the more flavorful batter of the southern fried chicken from White Brick across the road.
We tried this place because we were too lazy to go downtown Toronto to our favourite Korean Fried Chicken Place and to be Honest it was quite Decent! Their side sauces were not the greatest and didn’t offer the traditional Korean Sauce which you would expect with Fried Chicken However over all a great experience!
We enjoyed a nice lunch with our good friends. We ordered the regular traditional Korean fried whole chicken for $22. My husband and I actually ate off a whole fried chicken by ourselves, it was cut up into pieces of legs, wings, small breasts... Our friends ordered the same but had a basket of fries which was good I must say. One thing they didn't have was tea, my husband wanted a pot of tea but this eatery is sort of like a bar/ restaurant. A good lunch, we will invite our kids to dine here again.
