Porta Via - Markham

FOOD: Great place for getting something healthy and fresh! They make their own sauces and they have many from which you can choose! They offer a wide range of meat, vegetarian, and vegan options! They have many toppings and salad options. You can get a sandwich, soup, salad, or salad and grain bowl. Everything is made from scratch with nothing added which I love! It tasted really healthy and loved it! I got the salad and grain bowl which came out to $11.30. I got to pick a grain and salad base of my choice. It also came with 5 Veggie toppings that I got to pick and protein is extra. STAFF: Super helpful and friendly! Explained the menu and was patient! Great service!! SPACE: Medium sized store with limited spots to sit and eat. Modern looking store but parking is difficult during peak hours as it's limited. I wish they were open for more hours especially dinner time as well!

This is the newest location of Porta Via. I am happy that they opens up in Markham, as now I have another options if I want to have a healthy lunch option. Soup and Sandwich at $8.75 and with an extra soup $10.75. There are usually 2 soups to choose from one Vegan and the other is usually vegetarian.. great if you has special dietary requirement. There are quite a good selections of panini and you can get the kind of bread you would like... Salad/Beet Soup/Beef with Brie on Francese Bread Salad is smallish... the vinaigrette dressing is quite nice and tangy Soup is beet puree seasoned with a hint of black pepper, really simple I love my Francese Bread, so crusty... the in house roasted beef is quite moist and lean... It will be more perfect if the sandwich has left in the grill a little longer The deco is clean and simple. The disposable metal look alike plastic utensils would be nice if they are real utensils for eat in patrons. A little pricey than my usual lunch but I guess that's the price one pay for good and healthy ingredients! Luckily they accepts all credit cards.. at least I still can pay for my lunch!

Looking for something lighter nap stumbled into this little gem on woodbine. Atmosphere is nothing to rave about but for the size of the establishment t there is a good amount of seating if you want to dine in. For take out, they are very efficient in getting you sorted about. Start to finish I was in and out in under 10 min. Ordered a the quinoa/kale/rice base with feta, cucumber, tomato, olives and pumpkin seeds. Added spicy chicken as my meat option on top and topped with balsamic as the dressing. You can opt in for a soup in your combo that saves you a dollar vs buying it separate. I went for the tomato soup and it was a nice creamy soup with a touch of spice in it. All in, wasn't the cheapest salad out there at $17 but it was delicious.

Fresh, quick, healthy! Came by for lunch takeout as I was lucky to have a day off they are only open weekday lunches. Seems like a popular spot for nearby staff on their breaks grabbing takeout. Plenty of seating inside and noticed it was clean and bright. Super friendly as well! I guess they noticed it was my first time there and asked if I needed any help with the menu. Plenty of options for both the main sandwich and salad selections. Got the chicken avocado wrap with the spring mix. For 11.75, I was happy with what I got. The wrap was tightly packed and held well throughout. Chicken was not dry, and went well with the avocado, peppers and tomato among other toppings. Salad greens were fresh and was a generous portion. Parking might be harder to find during peak hours but otherwise its pretty easy to find just off Woodbine 7. Will be back!

I was introduced to Porta via by a coworker who said that there were lots of healthy fresh food options close to work. Bonus to even have vegan options!!! Everything is so so so fresh and the portions here are amazing! I never go back to work feeling hungry or grossed out or greasy after having a meal here. I love their tofu wrap it is a bit spicy but you can always ask for a different spread/sauce. They even have complimentary coffee. The staff here are also incredibly friendly. A must visit!!
